Dr. Alan Wasserman
Meet the Doctor
He is passionate about his dentistry. After graduation from Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine, in 1974, with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree, he completed a one year hospital residency program at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Since then he has accumulated more than 1 500 hours of postgraduate dental and medical knowledge. He is more than a Dentist, he is an Oral Physician, completing each comprehensive examination with an oral cancer screening and a head and neck evaluation, He has two continuing education fellowships: FAGD, FADI. This maintains his practice on the leading edge of current technology. Dr. Alan G Wasserman has consistently focused his efforts and education on a singular mission to provide the best in oral health and patient wellness to all he has served.
Now some 40 years later, his singular approach to dentistry has placed him in the vanguard of patient care, allowing him to focus on the national epidemic of SLEEP APNEA, and “bridging the gap between dentistry and medicine.” TM Through the use of Oral Appliance Therapy, Dr. Wasserman is now a leader in the treatment of this disorder and remains on the forefront of this technology. The South Florida Sleep Apnea Center, created to meet this public demand, is the vanguard of Oral Appliance Therapy. His philosophy is better living through better sleep. TM With the use of these oral appliances people are more compliant in following the correct protocol as set by the American Medical Association, the American Sleep Apnea Association and the National Sleep Foundation, making the uncomfortable CPAP machines outdated. The oral appliance works by gently moving the lower jaw forward allowing the user to breathe normally without snoring or stopping breathing (apnea). You can breathe through your mouth if you choose as well as talk and drink while wearing the appliance. There is no invasive surgery, no painful recovery, no noise, no use of electricity and nothing cumbersome to wear. It fits in the palm of your hand and travels in your pocket. Oral appliance therapy is safe, effective and FDA approved. Dr. Wasserman is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Sleep Apnea Association, National Sleep Foundation and Snoring Isn’t Sexy, LLC. Dr. Wasserman has been seen in the Wall Street Journal and Newsweek Magazine regarding the treatment of Sleep Apnea. “My patients’ and their bedmates are back to sleeping in the same room and neither is “black and blue” from being elbowed to “turn over and stop snoring.” Everyone gets better nights sleep.
